Travel Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Guwahati and Transfer to Shillong with Local Sightseeing
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and meet our representative, who will assist with your transfer to Shillong, known as the "Scotland of the East." On the way, visit Umium Lake, also known as Barapani Lake, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the valley. You can also sample local delicacies at the roadside stalls near the viewpoint. Continue your journey to Mawsynram, where you will explore the sacred Mawphlang Forest, a revered site known for its biodiversity and cultural significance. Afterward, return to Shillong for an overnight stay, ready to embark on the next day's adventures.
Day 2 - Transfer to Cherrapunjee and Explore Its Wonders
After a delicious breakfast, head to Cherrapunjee, the second wettest place on Earth. En route, visit the panoramic Shillong Peak and the majestic Elephant Falls, two of Shillong's major attractions. Pass through the scenic Mawdok Dympep Valley and arrive in Cherrapunjee, where you will visit the Seven Sister's Waterfall, Dainthlen Falls, Wei Sawdong Waterfall, and the spectacular Nohkalikai Falls. Explore the Eco Park and the fascinating Mawsmai Cave, followed by a visit to the Arwah Cave. Each site offers unique insights into the region's natural beauty. Spend the night in Cherrapunjee, surrounded by its lush landscapes.
Day 3 - Trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridges
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before driving to Tyrna Village, the starting point of your trek to the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridges. The trek involves navigating over 3,000 steps through sacred groves, crossing suspension bridges, and hiking forest trails. The journey offers an incredible blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage, passing by well-maintained homes and scenic vistas. Upon reaching Nongriat, marvel at the Double Decker Living Root Bridges and enjoy a refreshing dip in the natural pools below. Continue your trek to the mesmerizing Rainbow Falls, where you can witness the namesake rainbow if the weather is favorable. After soaking in the stunning views, trek back to Tyrna and return to Cherrapunjee for an overnight stay.
Day 4 - Visit Dawki and Mawlynnong, then Transfer to Shillong
Post breakfast, travel to Dawki, a picturesque border town between India and Bangladesh. Visit the border post and enjoy a boat ride on the crystal-clear Umngot River. Next, head to Mawlynnong, celebrated as Asia's cleanest village. Stroll through the village, interact with locals, and savor local delicacies for lunch. Explore the Sky Bridge, a bamboo structure offering panoramic views of Bangladesh, and the fascinating Balancing Rock. On your way back to Shillong, stop at Riwai Village to see the Single Decker Living Root Bridge, one of the region's iconic attractions. Spend your evening at leisure in Shillong, with an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5 - Day Trip to Jowai
After breakfast, set out for a day trip to Jowai, a charming town in the Jaintia Hills. Visit the stunning Krangshuri Waterfalls, the serene Tyrshi Waterfall, the historic Nartiang Monoliths, and the revered Durga Mandir. On your return journey to Shillong, stop at the Grand Laitlum Canyon, made famous by the movie Rock On 2, and enjoy its breathtaking views. Spend your evening exploring the local market in Shillong before retiring for the night.
Day 6 - Transfer from Shillong to Guwahati and Departure
On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing for Guwahati. Our representative will drop you off at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. As your tour concludes, take with you unforgettable memories of the enchanting landscapes and vibrant cultures of Meghalaya.
