Travel Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Guwahati, Transfer to Shillong, and Local Sightseeing
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, where our representative will greet you and assist with your transfer to Shillong, often referred to as the "Scotland of the East." On the way, visit Umium Lake, also known as Barapani Lake, and enjoy the serene views of the valley. Indulge in local delicacies at the roadside stalls near the viewpoint before continuing your journey.
Next, visit the historic Golf Course, one of the oldest in India, followed by a check-in at your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring Shillong's landmarks, including Ward's Lake, a picturesque spot for boating and relaxation, Mary's Cathedral, All Saint's Cathedral, and Lady Hydra Park. In the evening, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Police Bazar and Bara Bazar, where you can shop and enjoy the numerous cafes, pubs, and restaurants. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Excursion to Jowai
After breakfast, set out for a day trip to Jowai, located in the Jaintia Hills. Begin your exploration with a visit to the stunning Krangshuri Waterfalls, known for their crystal-clear blue waters and scenic beauty. Continue to the serene Tyrshi Waterfall and the historic Nartiang Monoliths, a fascinating collection of ancient monolithic structures. On your way back to Shillong, stop at the Grand Laitlum Canyon, made famous by the movie "Rock On 2," and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Spend the evening at your leisure, exploring the local markets before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3 - Transfer to Cherrapunjee and Explore Its Wonders
Start your day with a delicious breakfast before heading to Cherrapunjee, the second wettest place on Earth. En route, visit Shillong Peak for panoramic views of the city and the majestic Elephant Falls, one of Shillong's major attractions. As you journey to Cherrapunjee, pass through the scenic Mawdok Dympep Valley, known for its stunning vistas.
In Cherrapunjee, explore the Seven Sister's Waterfall, Dainthlen Falls, Wei Sawdong Waterfall, and the awe-inspiring Nohkalikai Falls. Discover the beauty of Eco Park and the fascinating Mawsmai Cave. After lunch, visit the Arwah Cave, known for its ancient limestone formations. Spend the night in Cherrapunjee, surrounded by its lush landscapes.
Day 4 - Cherrapunjee to Dawki and Mawlynnong Village, then Return to Shillong
After breakfast, travel to Dawki, a picturesque border town between India and Bangladesh. Visit the border post and enjoy a boat ride on the crystal-clear Umngot River. Next, head to Mawlynnong, celebrated as Asia's cleanest village. Stroll through the village, interact with the locals, and savor local delicacies for lunch.
Explore the Sky Bridge, a bamboo structure offering panoramic views of Bangladesh, and the intriguing Balancing Rock. On your way back to Shillong, stop at Riwai Village to see the Single Decker Living Root Bridge, one of the region's iconic attractions. Spend your evening at leisure in Shillong, with an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5 - Transfer from Shillong to Guwahati and Departure
On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing for Guwahati. On the way, visit the Don Bosco Museum, which offers insights into the region's rich cultural heritage. Continue your journey with a visit to the Kamakhya Temple, a significant pilgrimage site in Guwahati. Our representative will drop you off at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, marking the end of your tour with unforgettable memories of Meghalaya.
